On August 24, Tech Titans, the largest technology trade association in Texas, held its annual awards gala event at the Renaissance Legacy in Plano, Texas. BALANCED was one of four finalists in the Technology Inventor category, which “recognizes the pioneering accomplishments of a person, team or group responsible for the creation of breakthrough ideas, processes or products which have advanced the discipline(s) of the arts, education, electronics, energy, engineering, environment, medicine, and/or science.”

Congratulations to the winner of our category was Rahul Saini of Zyvex Labs who makes an advanced implant to restore vision for blind patients with retinitis pigmentosa and advanced macular degeneration. We’d also like to make special note of the wonderful acceptance speech given by Emerging Company Innovation award winner Calvin Carter of Bottle Rocket.

Though we didn’t win, it was a successful night in which we enjoyed the company of the top technology companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.  It was also a rare occasion for us to stop working for a moment, dress up with our lovely and supportive wives, and even got to witness our CTO Dr. Corey Clark wearing  a suit for the first time.
